东京某东老旧的公寓内，生活着胖乎乎的涂装工人福田辰男（大岛美幸 饰），他长相平平，但乐观向上，在工地为伙伴们所信任，在公寓则为养着蟒蛇的邻居马渊和曾有过偷窃前科的青年调解纠纷。不过阿福也有致命之处，他不擅长应付女性。好友岛木拓郎（荒川良良 饰）一直为阿福的爱情担心，为此不断张罗着为他介绍对象。烦恼的阿福为此和朋友吵架，会面时则有意无意忽视约会女孩的存在。在他看来，也许和朋友们玩耍放风筝才是最快乐的事。直到某天，美丽女孩杉浦千穗（水川麻美 饰）找上门来。
千穗本来供职一家一流企业，但为了摄影梦想而毅然辞职。遭受一连串挫折的她，偶然想起曾和老同学阿福之间的一段往事……。A high school kid throws a party under strange circumstances.。During the cold and rainy off-season a man arrives in a seaside town and, giving his name only as Pierre, checks into the only hotel which remains open. His arrival arouses curiosity and a degree of suspicion, as people note that he appears to know the area, yet gives no explanation for his presence at that bleak time of year in the dead-end town.。
