本剧是1987～1992年香港亚洲电视公司根据正史与民间野史编写的剧集，动员了亚洲电视台的大部份艺员参与拍摄。该剧不但在香港造成了收视热潮，也在香港以外的地区受到相当程度的欢迎。剧名《满清十三皇朝》，源自民国八年（1919年）由“燕北老人”所著《满清十三皇朝秘史》。二者描写的俱为努尔哈赤建立的后金国与清朝共十二位皇帝。（包含十一代，同治帝和光绪帝为堂兄弟）。燕北老人因为皇太极（清太宗）将国号由“金”改“清”，年号亦由天聪改为崇德，算两个皇朝。故称之为“满清十三皇朝”。。Tired of country life, Anna leaves military school and her home to live in exciting Prague where she finds herself confused by the behavior of her hip new friends. Irma is despondent over her latest break-up. Speedy is always high, but his brother Filip seems normal enough and Anna takes a shine to him.
