2024年2月10日，电影《热辣滚烫》正式上映的当天，离开公众视野一年多的贾玲首次亮相，带着她执导的第二部作品归来。本片真实记录了这段时间里，她拍摄《热辣滚烫》所不为人知的幕后故事。
本片历时20个月拍摄制作完成，共分4集，分别是《冒险》、《蜕变》、《冲刺》、《拳手》。这既是一部电影的幕后工作纪实，同时也全程记录了贾玲为了塑造角色所经历的一场冒险及跌宕起伏的心路历程。。该剧在六大洲拍摄，去到北极圈、非洲草原等，用尖端摄像技术揭示前所未见的黑暗降临后的动物活动，“如同光天化日下一样清晰”。。Horrible Histories is back with a special episode delving in to the life and times of the world's most famous writer.
