故事发生在二十世纪九十年代的古都北京。随着经济高速腾飞，城市高楼林立，不少古老的四合院被拆除，取而待之的是钢筋水泥筑就的高楼大厦。民国初年所建的“龙堂”武馆亦面临相同命运。独守庭院的杜海（刘龙 饰）、杜忠（张丰毅 饰）父子想借与开发商谈条件之机，邀请遍布海外的龙堂旧主，重返龙堂叙旧。消息发布出去，平日安静的四合院来了一批貌合神离原龙堂主人的后裔。由于阔别多年，性格迥异，加之当年在龙堂居住时结下的旧怨，这帮来自五湖四海的“亲人”们一见面就掐了起来，这种场面是杜忠万万没想到的，这也违背了自己当时的初衷。杜忠挖空心思，他要改变这种尴尬局面......。Known as America's Poet, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow leads an idyllic life...until the day his world is shattered by tragedy.
