本片荣获2009年圣丹斯电影节华道•索尔（Waldo Salt）剧本奖。。太宰治の小説「斜陽」をもとにした本作では太平洋戦争後、没落貴族となった島崎かず子が道ならぬ恋に突き進んでいくさまが描かれる。。
