故事发生在昭和58年的一个炎热夏天，由于父母的工作调动，十六岁的少年九澄（小林优 配音）从繁华的大都市搬到了名为嫦娥街的山中小镇，一条小河将这个小镇分为了“新市街”和“旧市街”两个部分。在这里，九澄结识了新的朋友——个性积极开朗的摘花五十铃（加藤英美里 配音）和温文尔雅的大家闺秀朝雾要（渕上舞 配音），在好友的陪伴和鼓励下，九澄很快就适应了这里的平静生活。
