蒋松平（乔庄饰）在师父死后，肩负起了照顾师娘苏玲（凌波饰）的重任。蒋松平希望苏玲能够学会唱歌，如此便可以靠自己的能力在社会上立足，经过了不懈的努力，苏玲成功了，而她和蒋松平之间的感情，也在此过程中不断的升温发酵。 之后，苏玲在一家夜总会里找到了一份工作，并且结识了歌女白露（沈衣饰）。实际上，白露早已经对蒋松平芳心暗许，她将蒋松平和苏玲之间的情投意合全部看在眼底，内心感到非常的妒忌。为了拆散这对佳偶，白露偷偷的向蒋松平提供毒品，再将他吸毒的事情告诉了苏玲，这令苏玲对蒋松平感到非常的失望。。首富秦牧歌身为秦氏老祖，拥有对秦氏家族继承人婚嫁一言决断的权利。在继承人大婚当天，秦牧歌回到家族，却被新娘刘婷误认为是小三，对秦牧歌极尽羞辱。直到秦牧歌身份曝光，刘婷才悔不当初。。Disarmingly realistic in its depiction of the realities of frontier life, Heartland is a strong antidote to the cliches of traditional Westerns. This semi-documentary slice of life is based on the diaries of Elmore Randall Stewart about her days on the Wyoming frontier in the early 20th century. It's a strongly feminist statement about a woman raising her small daughter alone and scrapping for a living by working for a shy Scottish rancher. Director Richard Pearce brings an endearing touch to a film that is helped greatly by the dazzling cinematography of Fred Murphy. Conchata Ferrell and Rip Torn star in this small film that substitutes veracity for a high-powered plot. Pearce worked as a cinematographer on Woodstock and other documentaries before making his directorial debut. Winner of the 1980 Berlin Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival。
