继《闯关东》、《走西口》后，“中国近代史上最著名的三次人口迁徙”之一，《下南洋》也被拍成电视剧。与央视09开年大戏《走西口》相比，黄圣依、佟大为、张默、午马、元华、 王诗槐、 童蕾、 刘佳、 隋俊波、舒耀暄等人组成的演员阵容可谓“豪华”，同时，这也是佟大为08年成婚得女后接拍的首部电视剧。 该剧剧情将以清末民初两个家族为线索，讲述另男二女漂洋过海、彻底改变自己和家族命运的故事。而拍摄地中山影视城也特意为该剧重新装扮，此次央视对《下南洋》投资制作的力度。。拉敏为逃脱祖国对同性恋者的迫害，躲在一艘土耳其货船上离开伊朗。但他并未想到，自己竟会远离自己熟悉的一切，意外来到墨西哥韦拉克鲁斯市，在这座热带港城过起流亡生活。他尝试适应更自由的新生活，结识新的人；他的欲望也被唤醒，同他的过去和未来碰撞交织。。An ancient pig-like demon is set upon a group of college students by a mysterious being called The Dealer.
