在姑苏，一身戎装的冒辟疆和董小宛重逢了，董小宛决定将自己的个人安危弃之不顾，也要追随自己的恋人。然而在战乱中，两人还是走散了，董小宛被钱牧斋收留，之后又辗转被送入了宫中。董小宛不愿意嫁作他人妇，于是绝世求死，恰逢冒辟疆抵达京中，两人才得以再次相见。。
