But, when the grandfather she never knew about passes away, her life is suddenly ...。天才科学家大卫创造了世界首具拥有高度人工智慧的机械人亚当，并邀请当红的科技杂志记者荞依，进入实验室进行一週的近距离专访。在採访的过程中，荞依深受聪明又充满抱负的大卫吸引，萌生情愫的两人开始越走越近，而将一切看在眼裡的亚当，竟产生如人类般的忌妒情绪，行为更变得有些怪异与偏激...。20世纪二十年代的旧上海，转行做水果生意的郑木匠（郑鹧鸪 饰）与祝郎中（郑正秋 饰）的店铺隔街相望。所谓红男绿女，郑木匠恋上了祝郎中的女儿（余英 饰），他是不是送对方水果，还帮助祝小姐赶走骚扰的阿飞。两人逐渐坠入情网。
然而当郑木匠登门提亲之时，心有不快的祝郎中却提出一个苛刻的条件。郑木匠若能让冷清的药铺顾客盈门，便可迎娶祝小姐。这并未难倒郑木匠，他想出了一个绝妙的办法……
本片为是现存尚可放映的最早的一部中国电影，也是中国现存最早的故事片。。
