男主人公尼亚孜艾力，是一名维吾尔族诗人。他爷爷年轻时从南疆迁到北疆，他和父亲都出生在伊犁哈萨克自治州。他从小时候起就想到南疆看看，体验传统的维吾尔族文化，并寻找自己血脉的根源。。
